How to get CPU serial under Linux without root permissions -


how can cpu serial number under linux (ubuntu) without root permissions?

i tried cpuid command, works without root permissions, appears return zeros (i believe because needs changed in bios).

can please suggest me way retrieve cpu serial program without root permissions , without having modify bios?

processor serial numbers in pentium iii processors. intel removed later models due privacy concerns raised. such, unless you're on piii and bios settings let read serial number, you'll 0's.
