eclipse - Attempting Android Notepad Tutorial - Exercise 1 - More problems -

this maybe continuation 2 of previous question, or maybe it's unconnected problem.

the tutorial asked select "create project existing source". 1st original question copy template (original source) , answers received, looks should copy directory-structure/source under c:/development/eclipse/ directory, this

i did that, , tried continue tutorial, when got part says select "create project existing source", received pair of errors

c:\andriod\andriod-sdk-windows\androidmanifest.xml: java.io.filenotfoundexception: c:\andriod\andriod-sdk-
(same error prints twice in console & workspacelog

so posted second question filenotfoundexception:, , received answer saying ignore message, happens time... deiced plow forward again. have 2 problem. 1 of problems may of own doing, trying run threw tutorial dozens of times, , attempting out changes on , on again.

problem # 1:
once again start create notepadv1 project using "create project existing source" (the cant-read-androidmanifest-xml error still appears), suggested ignore it. next select "android 1.5/platform 1.5 build target, field enter min sdk version grayed out, , can't enter number 3 there.. tutorial says put number there, seems become grayed out @ same time select "create project existing source" , "cant-read-androidmanifest-xml" error.

problem # 2:
if click on [next] twice, or [finish] once, pop box message "invalid project description" - - "reason: invalid project description"

[details>>] "invalid project description. c:\development\eclipse\notepadv1 overlaps location of project: 'notepadv1' ".

this did not happen. there no mention of "notepadv1" in package explorer or navigator windows, can't find way remove it, , have run clean projects, exited eclipse , rebooted machine few time... in few different ways.

p.s. have not yet accept of answers last question, because juries still out. i'm not yet sure correct. i'll make sure go , accept answers, once figure out correct answer - joe

problem 1 because androidmanifest.xml missing.

problem 2 notepadv1 exists in workspace.

if change workspace documents/my documents or equivilant folder depending on os. can under file->switch workspace->other. delete have under eclipse directory. messy if update eclipse or have multiple versions of eclipse.

where notepad project? is part of sdk? if use file->import copy on workspace rather mess sdk copy. why manifest missing.

if more let me know.

ps. want reinstall sdk if notepad manifest missing.

@joe. couldn't why other tutorials worked , others didn't definite using sdk workspace going end being programmatic when learning. sdk separate workspace. so, in brief summary, keep sdk, eclipse source , project workspace in entirely different locations. , can start there if want more help.
