php - Download image and mime type -


i have scraper downloads favicons

i download icon, check filetype of file.

however.............. else indicated might smarter check mimetype while downloading.

i don't feel comfortable it: mimetype correct when downloading favicon web or check need take place on physical file?

  • obviously google s2 favicons png these can discarded
  • even /favicon.ico in root there people not understand , rename favicon.png .ico , place in root....
  • yes... should run large scraping action , find out if mime type correct , unfortunately not google , did not have time scrape millions of sites find out answer hope out there expertise has knowledge. im in coding phase not testing phase. afterwards maybe nice check before testing. maybe right , should not post queston after testing this.

humans make mistakes. websites built humans. therefore mistakes made mime type favicons.
